Snapchat has just released an update, and users are not happy. Thousands have signed a petition on Change.org, insisting that the new Snapchat update may be nullified, and the app be brought back to its older version.
Users feel frustrated at the greater difficulty they are now experiencing following the update.
Nic Rumsey, a Snapchat user, started the following petition directed to Snap.Inc.
Reportedly, several people used search engines to search how to “uninstall” or “undo” update.
The social media app, which is used by millions worldwide, has gained immense popularity over the last few years, but this particular upgrade has had a cataclysmic cyber effect on many.
The new update on Snapchat requires users to go to the ‘Friends’ page in order to view stories. Moreover, chats and stories are clustered in the same place.
But there’s isn’t just one petition!
Several other petitions calling for similar action to be taken have been seen on the Change.org website.
After the launch of Snapchat and with its increasing popularity, other social media platforms – such as Instagram and Facebook – have also added the option of ‘stories’ for their users. But it seems like people are most unhappy about Snapchat’s recent move to adjust the older features.
Many went to Twitter to express their concerns regarding the update.
As it shows, the disappointment has further aggravated into action, as people have called for a boycott of the Snapchat.
People have also shared pictures of them uninstalling the application.
Meanwhile, Snapchat’s Twitter account has said that it isn’t possible to reverse the update, and has suggested users to get give it a chance.
“It’s not possible to revert to a previous version of Snapchat, but we’re happy to answer any questions you have about the new layout,” Snapchat tweeted.
Snapchat has also been retweeting followers who are in support of the new update.
It looks like users will have to make peace with the new update. What are your views? Let us know in the comments!
