Who doesn’t know the indomitable DJ Khaled? He’s a successful musician, rapper, lyrical genius and newish father to an adorable son named Asahd.
Unfortunately, he just lost an almost-family member.
DJ Khaled’s fiancée, Nicole Tuck, just lost her brother in a shooting incident. Her brother was shot in an apparent drug deal gone wrong. According to police reports, Jonathan Tuck was shot straight in the face.
While Tuck was at an apartment on Sunday night, police alleged he had gone to the said apartment to buy cannabis.
Reportedly, Jonathan was brutally gunned down after a heated argument between the dealer and himself. He was rushed to St. Barnabas immediately.
However, his injuries were fatal and he died at the hospital. The tragic incident occurred on Washington Avenue near E. 185th St in Belmont.
Police and other law enforcement teams spoke to TMZ. They said a 34-year-old male had been detained for questioning, on suspicion that the miscreant was involved in some way.
Jonathan’s loss has not been easy for anyone.
Brandon Davis, 30, his friend of seven years, said, “He’s a good guy.”
“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was no reason for him to be there,” he said.
Davis is a football coach. He met Tuck when he played defensive for the Bronx Colts in 2011.The two remained firm friends for seven years.
Jonathan was going to watch the Super Bowl with his friend on Sunday.
Davis waited for him to show up but he never did. It all came to terrible fruition at 4 a.m. on Monday, when Jonathan’s girlfriend called Davis to tell him the news.
Davis added, “All I can think about as I’m sitting here celebrating football and my friend is across town dying.”
DJ Khaled was not present with his fiancée at the time of the shooting.
The rapper was allegedly in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl. Police has reported to New York Daily News, saying that Nicole and her mother rushed to Bronx as soon as the heard what happened.
DJ Khaled has not yet responded or commented.
