Brad and Angelina have received court’s approval to extend the temporary judge to prolong divorce talk privately.
Having spent almost a decade together, the Hollywood’s golden couple filed a divorce after two years of marriage in 2016. The custody of their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the twins Vivienne and Knox – and the decision for distribution of their assets is yet underway.
Oscar-winning Angelina Jolie had requested the custody of the children after the divorce. Whereas the Fight Club star Brad Pitt, last year, was allowed visitation to the six children, who currently live with Jolie. But Pitt always wanted joint custody of the children.
Nevertheless, the former couple that has been privately negotiating in amicable terms, has been granted approval to extend the negotiation away from the public eye.
According to a few sources Jolie had filed a divorce five days after an altercation was reported between Brad Pitt and his then 15-year-old Maddox. The divorce was preceded by an FBI investigation, which was closed with no charges.
Last year, Brangelina had put their divorce on hold to negotiate their finances. But given the circumstances, the possibility of their reunion remains highly unlikely despite the speculations last year.
The insiders have played down all the speculations of a possible reunion.
They said, “Both sides are hashing out both child custody and property settlements, and the divorce is full steam ahead.”
The source added: “First and foremost, it’s about money. They have so many properties and so many areas their pre-nup doesn’t cover.”
Talking about the conflict, the source added:“For instance, Brad wants to keep their estate in France and keep up their wine brand, while Ange wants to sell the property and use it all for charity. The list goes on and on and the lawyers are in stalemate.”
Despite this case, Angelina Jolie continues her activities. She recently visited NATO Headquarters in Belgium to discuss prevention of sexual assault against women in the areas of conflict.
She also wrote an op-ed with NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, in The Guardian during December on how NATO can play the role in ending gender-based violence.
Pitt, however, had a three car accident last Monday. Brad reportedly crashed his dark grey Tesla into a Nissan Altima, which then hit a black Kia Soul.
